Back from Boston
Got back from Boston yesterday and a successful trip to AEJMC (although truth be told, I spent much more time in the city than at the conference. I even made it to the minor league game at Fenway on Saturday; here's my view from the right field bleachers).
We had a good meeting regarding the potential sports interest group. The formal presentation will be made in December and those involved have very high hopes for success. It was a very good sign that there was a lot of sports scholarship at the conference, including several papers from graduate students.
Although we technically have enough signatures (from AEJMC members) to present the petition, it would help our case to get as many as possible. If you are interested in this please contact Marie Hardin at Penn State--mch208@psu.edu. Thanks to Marie, Scott Reinardy and others at the meeting last Thursday for moving this issue forward.
